Our bamboo journey to Verona
We are an agricultural farm specialized in fruit growing.
Because our family has always been open to new ideas, we began our exciting bamboo story in spring 2018.
We founded Gerba OHG and in the Verona area we planted bamboo on around 20 hectares of land.
With great commitment, demanding hands-on work, and plenty of passion and curiosity, we pursue the goal of turning these plants into a bamboo forest.
We harvest the bamboo canes by cutting them individually by hand, trimming and processing them to create privacy screens or to sell them individually.
Springtime in our bamboo forest is especially exciting: it feels like a miracle when bamboo shoots sprout everywhere from the ground.
With our recipes adapted for European tastes, we bring these crunchy and healthy young shoots into the jar.
From field to jar
We plant, care for, and harvest everything ourselves – with craftsmanship, care, and experience.
We plant our bamboo ourselves
From the very beginning, everything is in our own hands: we plant our bamboo ourselves on our fields in the province of Verona. This is where the quality of our products begins – right in the soil, with care, experience, and genuine passion.
We care for our plants
Our bamboo plants are cared for and monitored closely by us. With a lot of manual work, patience, and respect for nature, we create the foundation for healthy, strong shoots.
We harvest ourselves
When the young bamboo shoots emerge from the ground in spring, we harvest them ourselves – fresh, carefully, and at exactly the right moment. This allows us to guarantee top quality, delicate freshness, and their signature crunchy bite.
Processed according to our family recipe
A small local organic producer processes our shoots with careful handcraft and professional expertise.

Our forest habitat for many animals
Many pheasants and many hares live in our bamboo forest, and we have already spotted a fox as well. In addition, we provide a habitat for many other animals and thus contribute to the stabilisation of the local ecosystem.
